The Good Guys at GOODYEAR have gone from road to snow, and are now building the BEST
belts for your snowmobile. How can we say this??? Well, let's get technical.
The cord in a belt is what gives a belt its' strength. Kevlar, (TM of
DuPont), is the material now used for cording in "V" belts. But the Good
Guys have taken it a step further They use "Flexen Cord" (TM of GOODYEAR).
This incredible material is actually Kevlar that has been specially processed by a
patented operation for better bonding to the rubber. The PowerStreak belt uses a
heavy gauge Flexten Cord. This cord consists of Flexten Fibers, which are pound for
pound five times stronger than steel, and is much thicker than cord used in competitors
belts.
GOODYEAR constructs the belt from the top to bottom (as opposed to bottom to top) which
gives
exact sizing to the finished product. Quality control: The Good Guys are
the only belt company using
the ISO-9000 certified method of checking belts. This is
a special Quality Control procedure developed by General Motors.
The rubber compound used by GOODYEAR is harder. Harder rubber compounds give
improved
performance, because sheaves can grip the belt harder.
Northern Lites test riders have been testing these PowerStreak belts by GOODYEAR, and
are getting
more miles than ever expected, with a great performance advantage. As
the mileage has increased,
the belt is tough and strong. They haven't showed signs
of slippage or heat stress.
